Kopupaka Reserve Playground

Child’s play brings prizes.

Kopupaka Playground is showing Aucklanders that a modern play space can be more than just a few swings and a climbing frame.

This is a real Kiwi backyard, designed to act as much as a community focal point as a space for kids to play in. It contains all the equipment a child would want, as well as edible plantings, vibrant colours, and was built with environmental sustainability in mind.

In fact, Kopupaka was awarded Playground of the Year at the Recreation Aotearoa 2021 NZ Parks Awards.

Our work
Successful construction of four distinctive play spaces.

Four spaces included:

• Strawberry fields themed playground
• A free play area
• Two laser-graded kick-a-ball spaces.

Works also included a picnic plaza, toilet block, connecting footpaths and soft landscaping.
