Ngā Puna Wai Sports Hub

Building better communities for better living.

Ngā Puna Wai is Christchurch’s premiere outdoor sports facility for athletics, hockey, rugby and tennis – and HEB Construction helped the city build it.

The Sports Hub comprises 32 hectares of recreation and esplanade reserve, having been developed to rigorous international sporting standards. We followed a complicated staged handover process to maintain flexibility with these codes, separating the project into four portions.

By June 2019, all four were delivered on budget and on time.

Lead contractor on the project, managing full construction and delivery.

Management of specialist subcontractors for certain tasks, such as artificial and natural turf installation, drainage, landscaping and construction of covered stands.

Construction and oversight of accessways, roading, carparks, infrastructure and utilities, irrigation, artificial hockey turf, tennis court, sand-based rugby fields, and natural turf-based fields.

Construction of pump station and installation of lighting.
