Our Environment

Protecting and enhancing our natural environment

We’re committed to protecting and enhancing our natural environment and the biodiversity within our communities.

At HEB, we know we have a huge responsibility to New Zealanders to ensure we protect the natural environment during the course of building, operating and maintaining our projects That’s why we consider ourselves lucky – and proud – to have one of the largest, most capable environmental teams in the Kiwi construction industry.

Our Environment team works alongside iwi and other specialists to make a positive impact and create long-lasting outcomes in our natural environment.

From ecological and archaeological management on the Takitimu North link in the Bay of Plenty, and restoration of streams like Mangaonua Gully in Hamilton to planting 2 million trees and plants on Te Ahu a Turanga Manawatu highway, we are proud to work with communities to make enhance our environments.

Check out our project pages to find out more about how we work in partnership to protect and enhance our natural environment.
